2026 Declaration of Candidacy

If you’d like to run to serve on the Davis Food Co-op Board of Directors, submit this Declaration of Candidacy Form. The form must be received by January 31, 2026 to be eligible for consideration. Details about the role of a Director and the Election are available on our Elections page.

I declare my interest in becoming a candidate for the Davis Food Co-op Board of Directors. The term I will serve, if elected, would begin July 1, 2026 and end June 30, 2029. I recognize that as a Director I will have a fiduciary responsibility as a representative of all other Members. If elected, I will act in an informed and prudent manner.

I am a member in good standing: I have paid a membership fee within 365 days (which is a minimum of $10 on your first year and $20 onward or you have reached the max share buy-in of $300)

I have been a member of the Davis Food Co-op for at least 90 days prior to the deadline for submitting this Declaration of Candidacy, January 31, 2026

Review the DFC Bylaws and Policies. I understand that serving as a director is a job that requires me:

to prepare for and attend Board and membership meetings

to become familiar with co-op bylaws, policies and operational and financial information

Please review the co-op’s current Elections Policy

I have read and intend to abide by the Co-op’s current Elections Policy

I understand that I must submit a professional-looking head shot photo and candidate statement of 250 words or less and that both will be part of the election information available to all voting shareholders. These documents must be uploaded below or sent to [email protected] by February 28, 2026.

I understand I have an opportunity to speak with other DFC members about my candidacy at the May 1, 2026 Annual Meeting and in the Community Information Space Area outside the store during approved hours during the election period.
