Understanding that some specialty items, such as those found in General Merchandise, can hold a higher price tag, we do everything in our power as a single community-owned grocery store to keep costs competitive, especially on the wide-range of food items we offer in store. In addition to competitive employee compensation and cost of living wage increases, employees are offered a 16.5% discount when shopping the Co-op. Bulk Olive Bar and Salad Bar

Thank you for your suggestion that we bring back both our olive bar and salad bar which we know are both beloved pre-pandemic staples at the Co-op. While the change to the olive bar was made as a pandemic response, we have found that pre-packaging has become a preferred method of purchase for the olives in addition to being more sanitary and clean. As for the salad bar, we no longer have the fixture that previously housed the salad bar which has made it difficult to reintroduce, although we did try for a brief period last year. We are not opposed to bringing the salad bar back, but have no plans to do so at the moment.
