They deliver fresh bread to us daily in limited quantities, so it’s available on a first-come, first-served basis. We’ve also reached out to Acme to explore the possibility of increasing the amount we receive. Thank you for being a valued supporter of the Co-op – we truly appreciate it!

Talenti Coffee chocolate chip is good-Hagen Daaz is amazing!

Thank you for your suggestion! We looked through all of our main distributors but, unfortunately, couldn’t find the specific Hagen Daaz you’re looking for. We’ve since reached out to one of our reps for additional support, but at the moment, we aren’t able to carry this item. We hope to find a way to bring it to the Co-op in the future and will reach out with any updates. Thank you for your understanding and for sharing your suggestion with us.

What if the Co-op did this:

I’d like to contribute my customer service, retail, teamwork, Shift Leas at Walgreens, management experience to Davis Coop. I shopped there during college and worked as a contributing member. I love the coop and its mission. Moving back to Davis! Please hire me! There is a fulltime cashier position open! Thank you 🙏 your time!

Can you please consider carrying the vegan cheese brand Bandit from Philadelphia? It’s delicious and right now the closest place to me that carries it is Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco. Here is their website: https://eatlikeabandit.com/pages/bandit-goods

A member asked to know where the Swiss Muesli in the bulk department went. He mentioned that he prefers the plain Swiss Muesli however, has not seen it in some time.

The Sacramento Co-Op carries a line of refrigerated pickles from Real Mojo. I have consumed two of the flavors and really enjoy them. I live in Davis part-time and it would be great if they were available locally. I believe that this product would sell well in the Co-Op.

What if the Co-op did this:

Suggest that the Co-op paint the lines in the parking lot in August (yearly or every other year?) since fewer cars, and paint dries faster. Before a new crop of parkers come to town. 🙂

Thank you for the suggestion on the parking lot striping. I just wanted to let you know that we do have plans of re-striping the parking lot. The plan is for early October before the rain comes. I never thought of the heavier traffic due to school starting. I will consider this and maybe striping earlier next year. Thank you again for being a valued member of the Davis food co-op.

Where are all the small shopping carts! I hate having to push around the new gigantic ones!

Hi Linda, Thank you for reaching out via our Suggestion Box. Unfortunately, the smaller green carts continue to dwindle down in number but are still in circulation. We are down to a few carts and we are storing them at the front entrance of the store or in the corral near the handicap parking. When we get information that they are spotted around town we go out and collect them but unfortunately we are not always notified. If you happen to spot any around town please reach out to us and we are happy to collect them back so there can be more available for use. If there is ever a time you need assistance shopping please let a cashier know and we are happy to help shop alongside or do a carryout for you.

Thank you so much for your suggestion! Sadly, the brand you’re referring to, Coolhaus, was bought out by a larger company that eventually decided to discontinue the business. It was a shock to us as well, and we understand how confusing it was for many loyal customers. We all had to do some research too, discovering that their Instagram hasn’t been updated in over a year, and their website is no longer active. We’ll definitely keep our eyes open for a similar alternative because those ice cream sandwiches were absolutely delicious! Thank you again for your feedback.

I saw your request and we actually have quince paste currently for sale. We hand cut it in bulk, and we also have it in retail packaging. Both are located in our cheese case, near Manchego cheese. We do not, however, have almondina cookies. I’ll have to do some research to see if any of our vendors have this particular cookie. Comment:

An electrical leaf blower for the leaf blower person to use on the premises. Why? The DFC used to be an OWNER MEMBER owned Co-op, which was a leader on issues in the Davis Community- now instead it is “owned” by the community???

Good afternoon, thank you for your feedback about the electric leaf blower. The maintenance team here on site do use an electric leaf blower. However, We have no control of what an outside vendor brings when they service our site. I can assure you we have tried looking for vendors who strictly use electric equipment but I have yet to find a company willing to travel to Davis at a reasonable price. (if you have a vendor you would like to recommend please let us know so we could look into it). I did hear that California will be implementing a law for all gas powered small equipment be banned, just not sure when it goes into effect. Hi Team, as a member, I sent an out of town guest to the co-op to order her travel sandwiches. She’s a manger in the deli/restaurant food industry for 20 years. She visited the deli on 9/14 and 9/15. And she has some serious observations that could be corrected before any health inspections: There was an employee that had their food gloves on took their glasses off to clean them by breathing on them. So they aspirated on the glasses and on the gloves. They then went back to working with food with the same gloves. Another employee was wearing a headphones.They really should not be doing that because it can interest with hearing safety warnings. My friend also watched our employees put on food prep gloves handle food, move racks and other nonfood prep equipment, keep the same gloves on, and go back to prepping food. They more sanitary practice is to put on gloves prep food, complete the task, take gloves off and manage nonfood tasks and put on fresh gloves before handling food again. Sounds like we have an opportunity here to improve our best practices for glove and sanitary deli food prep practices.
