Recipe: Pasta With Meatballs & Tomato Sauce


1 onion
1 cup bread crumbs
8 oz ground beef
1 co-op sausage
2 cloves garlic, smashed
1 tsp. oregano
2 Tbsp. oil
28 oz. tomato sauce
8 oz pasta


Mince ¼ of the onion, and cut the rest into rings. Mix minced onion, meat & bread crumbs. Form into meatballs about the size of a marble. Heat the oil in a pan and fry meatballs gently until brown all over. Remove meatballs from pan. Add remaining onion to same pan and cook until tender. Add garlic and oregano and cook until fragrant. Add tomato sauce, then rinse can with a little water and add that too. Scrape up any delicious brown bits from bottom of the pan. Add meatballs to sauce and cook over very low heat for 10 minutes. Cook pasta and stir into tomato mixture. Let stand for a minute or two before serving.
