Recipe: Salad with Tender Herbs


4 cups mild lettuce
1/2 cup mixed tender herbs*
1/4 cup golden balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup mild olive oil
1/2 tsp. prepared mustard
1 tsp. finely ground nuts
cheese to taste


Wash lettuce well and tear into bite-sized pieces. Wash herbs and separate leaves to add to salad. Mix remaining ingredients well and dress salad. A wee bit of mild cheese is nice in here.

“Tender” herbs are ones that you might like to bite into as is. Rosemary is not a good choice; tarragon is.
