Recipe: Sweet And Sour Dipping Sauce

Makes about 1/2 cup.


2 shallots, sliced
2 Tbsp. Kecap Manis
2 Tbsp. peeled, seeded, and chopped ripe tomato
2 Tbsp. water
1 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
1 tsp. sliced fresh hot red chile
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt


Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and purée coarsely using on/off turns. Transfer to serving bowl, cover and refrigerate. Bring to room temperature before serving.
