Recipe: Butter Turnips


2 lbs. fresh turnips
1 apple (we used Braeburn)
2 Tbsp. butter
1 Tbsp. sugar
salt & pepper to taste


Peel the turnips. You can peel the apple if you’d like, but you don’t have to. Cut into bite-sized pieces. Put everything but salt & pepper in a pot, fill half full of water, cover and cook gently until tender. Salt & pepper to taste.
