DIY Kombucha: 3 Day Series (Day 2)

March 13 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

All three classes are necessary to get to your first drinkable batch of Kombucha. It takes 6 weeks to get your first twice fermented batch, but after that you will have a new batch each week!

Day 1: 2/6 2pm-3pm

The first class will be short and sweet. We will learn to make a SCOBY and get ours started. It takes about 4 weeks to grow! We will cover the basics of kombucha making and different stages of fermentation to prepare for the next two classes. We will be batch brewing, which requires minimal equipment. I will also explain how to bottle brew and what equipment you will need for the remaining classes if you wish to do it that way!

Day 2: 3/6 2pm-3pm

Your SCOBY should be around a centimeter thick by now! Now we will start our first round of fermentation.

Day 3: 3/13 2pm-3:30pm

Our first batch of first-round fermentation is done! We will taste, take notes, and start our second round of fermentation. The handout will include many flavor ideas and combinations.

You will receive the ingredients list soon after signing up. The zoom link and handout will be emailed to you the day before and a few hours before the class.
