The Davis Food Co-op is proud to announce that this year we will celebrate the 32nd anniversary of our Annual Holiday Meal, to be held Sunday, December 24th, 2017, at the Veterans Memorial Center multi-purpose room at 14th & B Streets in Davis. This free and festive dinner for the entire community is a remarkable Davis tradition, and has become an important part of the holiday celebrations of local people from all walks of life.
Groups that help the needy, like the Yolo Food Bank, local food agencies, and other assistance agencies, report a growing demand for their services. The Holiday Meal is specifically targeted toward low-income people, students, seniors, and everyone who wishes to share a meal with other community members. Last year’s meal served a full, nutritious holiday dinner, free of charge, to more than 500 people.
This event succeeds only because a broad spectrum of people supports it, including all the wonderful people who give up part of their Christmas Eve to volunteer. Whether it is your first year or your 32nd, we are so happy to have you and look forward to working with you. Please join us for dinner either before or after your shift!
