GIVING BACK
Every year, Davis Food Co-op gives back to the community that sustains us — through direct donations, sponsorships, and a little spare change that adds up to something real. Here’s how we do it:
2024-2025 Fiscal Year
Donations
We support local organizations through gift cards, raffle prizes, and food donations that help strengthen our community. Our priority is to contribute to inclusive and philanthropic-related events such as fundraisers that directly benefit the community through food security and education.
Sponsorships
For organizations we can get more involved with, we offer larger one-time sponsorships that go beyond a check — think collaboration, event involvement, and deeper partnership. These are for causes we can really show up for.
Round Ups
When you check out, just say “I’d like to round up” — and we’ll send that spare change to the nonprofit of the month as a check. You can round up to any amount you like.
Community Discount
We provide a 10% Community Discount for qualified needs-based members. The Co-op’s Community Discount is an attempt to make our store truly accessible for as many people as possible.

SEPTEMBER 2026
The Davis Schools Foundation
Davis Schools Foundation is a nonprofit that supports student well-being and educational opportunities in the Davis Joint Unified School District (DJUSD). Through partnerships with families, educators, and community members, the foundation provides grants that fund programs and services beyond what public funding can support. Its funding priorities include mental health and counseling services, equitable access to educational resources, and providing educators with the tools needed to create safe, supportive, and effective learning environments.
AUGUST 2026
Yolo Diaper Bank
Yolo Diaper Bank works to remove diaper need as a barrier to the health and stability of Yolo County families. An estimated one in three families in Yolo County must choose between purchasing diapers for their children and paying for basic living expenses. To address this challenge, Yolo Diaper Bank collects and purchases diapers for distribution through local agencies serving families in need, helping ensure children have access to this essential resource.
JULY 2026
STEAC
STEAC (Short Term Emergency Aid Committee) provides immediate assistance with basic necessities to individuals and families with low incomes, helping them through financial emergencies and crises. Their services include food support through a food pantry and food packs for children, homelessness prevention such as rental and utility assistance, and the Road to Independence program that supports job readiness with help paying for legal documents, certifications, clothing, and educational materials.
