Since 1990, they’ve grown a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and nuts, and raise pigs and chickens on pasture. Terra Firma Farm, nestled in Winters, California, has been selling to the Davis Food Co-op for over two decades! They provide high-quality, flavorful produce throughout the year while promoting a sustainable and resilient local food system. With a focus on environmental stewardship, Terra Firma have been a cornerstone of organic farming since 1993.

The Durst family has been farming in the Yolo county area since the late 1800’s. Owners, Jim and Deborah Durst took over the farm in 1988 shifting practices and became known for their focus on fresh market organic produce. They are thoughtful and dedicated to providing quality organic produce while caring for the land through sustainable and regenerative practices.

Located in Winters, CA, Yolo Press has been crafting small-batch olive oil since 1991. Their 1,700 trees— spanning 16 varieties from Italy, Greece, Spain, and California— produce high-quality oil, cold-pressed on-site for peak freshness. They also create handcrafted olive oil soaps, blending sustainability with artistry.

Farmboy Organics, founded in 2022 by twin brothers Eric and Andrew Walker, is a certified organic family farm in Winters, CA. They grew up going to The Co-op and now work together to create a meaningful connection between their farm and our local community. Their passion for farming and dedication to sustainability has enabled them to grow into a household favorite.

Finz Farmz is a Sacramento-based microgreens business founded by Mike, who started growing out of his home seven years ago after leaving construction to pursue farming full-time. What began as a hobby quickly grew into a passion, and today his vibrant microgreens are sold at local farmers markets and grocery stores including the Davis Food Co-op! Good Humus is a small family farm located in Capay Valley, CA. Owners, Jeff and Annie Main started the farm shortly after graduating from UC Davis in 1976 and have been providing organic produce to local grocers like the Davis Food Co-op ever since!

Rainwater Ranch, a 20-acre certified organic farm in Winters, CA, has been owned by Lee Millon and Lauren McNees since 2014. They grow Washington Navel oranges, tulips, lavender, gladiolus, and sunflowers on 12 acres, emphasizing sustainable farming practices and a commitment to nurturing the land, preserving biodiversity, and fostering healthy ecosystems!

Daisy Creek Farms is a USDA Certified Organic farm that provides The Co-op with delicious, chemical-free blueberries! Farmer, Jag Singh, started Daisy Creek in honor of his great grandfather and now shares growing tips to a YouTube channel. Grown locally in Galt, CA with regenerative practices, their blueberries are a true reflection of healthy soil and sustainable farming.

The Cloverleaf Farm is an eight-acre organic orchard and farm located outside of Davis, California, specializing in peaches, nectarines, apricots, figs, and plums. The farm follows regenerative principles, including no-till farming, rotational grazing, native pollinator and predator habitat restoration, and cover-cropping. Certified USDA organic by Yolo County, The Cloverleaf Farm also ensures a living wage for its farming crew.

Heartwood Farms is a family-owned farm located in the heart of California’s #1 cherry county, Linden, CA. Operating for over 100 years, they specialize in growing cherries, apricots, and walnuts. They emphasize sustainability in their farming and are committed to biodynamics, organic, and regenerative farming practices.

Free Spirit Farm, located in Winters, CA, has been growing organic vegetables, fruits, and berries since 2008 under the care of farmer Toby Hastings. Nestled along Putah Creek and operated through a creative land-leasing partnership with the Center for Land-Based Learning, the farm cultivates six acres of seasonal crops with a focus on biodiversity, soil health, and sustainable farming practices.

Just 26 miles away from The Co-op, Capay Canyon Ranch harvests 10 acres of organic seedless red flame table grapes to selectively sell to local California co-ops, stores and farmer’s markets. Capay Canyon Ranch was started in 1972 and is a family run farm by parents, Stan and Leslie Barth and their (grown up) children; Tirzah, Todd, and Tobin.

Shared Abundance, a family-owned farm in Auburn, CA, has supplied organic produce to the Co-op for over 20 years! Known for their fall and winter kiwis, they focus on sustainable, regenerative practices that prioritize soil health and biodiversity. Their long-standing commitment brings our community fresh, environmentally conscious produce each season.

Blue Heron Farm was founded and stewarded by John & Gretchen Ceteras from 1975 until 2022, shortly after John’s passing in 2018. The Sac Co-op purchased the 20-acre farm to help preserve John and Gretchen’s legacy. Blue Heron Farm is CCOF & Real Organic certified, with longtime manager, Orlando, continuing to care for the land.

Gold Ridge Organic Farms, a beloved apple orchard and farm in Sebastopol, CA, was founded by Brooke Hazen, who began his farming journey in 2000 when he moved to the area and planted classic and heirloom apple orchards on his land. Hazen aims to carry on Sebastopol’s storied legacy of apple growing while nurturing the land through care and regenerative practices.

Located near Chico in the fertile Sacramento Valley of Northern California, Massa Organics is part farm, part experiment, and all labor of love. Owners Greg Massa and Raquel Krach are passionate about giving people access to healthy, delicious foods, farmed in a manner that restores the health of the soil, ecosystems, and climate.

Milleans Orchard was founded in 2010 by John Donovan, a gardener who revived a neglected 360 tree orchard and restored thousands of trees. They now partner with small family farms across California’s Central Valley to grow certified organic Fuyu persimmons. Their farm name comes from the combined names of Miles and Leanne, the two children of the orchard owner who first began working with John back in 2010.
