It’s A Wrap!!
The Davis Food Co-op has just completed its 2018 Board elections. Thank you DFC owners for taking part in this democratic process. The 2nd cooperative principle is democratic member control.
This election allows us to welcome one new Board member, Theresa Robinson, as well as the re-election of J. Faye Dixon.
Several board members participated in the recent national cooperative grocery conference (CCMA) in Portland, Oregon. A big movement for all co-ops is to take action steps to communicate and engage with their owners and shoppers to create a co-op this is more responsive to the food needs of the larger community. As a first step in this mission, the co-op has just partnered with Aggie Food Connection on the Davis campus to help address food insecurity for students
In the coming year, we also plan to hold more owner forums and focus groups as we strive to better understand the needs of our members. We only become better with your input.
A big “Thank You” to all the board members who worked so diligently on our Strategic Plan for the future. We look forward to partnering with our General Manager, Prasanna Regmi, as we move towards a shared vision of a 21st-century co-op.
And most importantly, we express our appreciation and gratitude to DFC staff for their dedication to our store and community.
Thank you for your continued support.
