Fall Spiced Simple Syrup

Richer and deeper than pumpkin spice, this fall spiced simple syrup is perfect for use in cocktails and coffee drinks.

½ cup water

½ cup brown sugar

¼ teaspoon cinnamon, or 1 cinnamon stick

3 cardamom pods, crushed

¼ teaspoon ground allspice

pinch ground cloves

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Whisk together all ingredients except vanilla in a small saucepan.

Bring to a simmer, and continue to simmer for 4-6 minutes to allow the flavors to develop. Let cool, then strain into in an airtight container and store in the fridge until ready to use. It’s good for at least a month in the fridge.
