Corn Salad with Chile and Lime
For those cold nights when you need a warm comforting cocktail.
1½ ounces brown liquor such as brandy, whiskey or rum
1 tablespoon of honey (or maple syrup if Vegan)
½ ounce lemon juice
1 cup hot water
A pinch of cayenne (optional, if you like a spicy kick!)
Lemon wedge and cinnamon stick (optional, if you like a garnish)
- In a teapot or saucepan, bring the water to a simmer. Pour the hot water into a mug.
- Add the liquor of choice, honey (or maple syrup) and lemon juice. Stir until the honey (or maple syrup) has disappeared into the hot water. Taste, and add additional honey (or maple syrup) for more sweetness, and/or more lemon juice for more zing. If you want to give it a spicy kick, add in a touch of cayenne!
- Garnish with a lemon round and cinnamon stick (if using). Enjoy responsibly!
