Oven Roasted Chestnuts
Roasted chestnuts are sweet and nutty. Use in a variety of sweet and savory preparations!
1/2 pound or more chestnuts
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
Using a sharp knife, score an “x” onto the round side of each chestnut. Place on baking sheet “x” side up.
Roast for 15-20 minutes or until the hard shell has pulled back to reveal the soft, yellow chestnut.
Cool for 5-10 minutes before piling chestnuts into a clean kitchen towel. Apply very gentle pressure to crack the shells. Peel away shells and furry-papery skins.
Enjoy right away or use in a recipe calling for chestnuts!
