Traditional Pie Crust
3 Cup Flour
1 1/3 Cup Vegetable Shortening
1 Tbsp Vinegar
about 1 Cup Water
In a 1-cup measuring cup, add egg and vinegar. Fill to the top with water and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl combine flour and vegetable shortening. Use your hands to blend until thoroughly crumbly. There should be some clumps of shortening.
Add the egg mixture it the center of the bowl, gently combine egg, water, and vinegar before folding into the flour mixture. Continue to combine with your hands until just combined. The dough will be sticky.
Wrap in parchment paper or a reusable silicone bag, and store in the freezer until ready to use. Will store 1 week in the fridge and 3 months in the freezer.
Roll out on a heavily floured surface.
