2023 Declaration of Candidacy

If you'd like to run to serve on the Davis Food Co-op Board of Directors, you must submit this Declaration of Candidacy Form. You can submit the form online here or print it and email it, post it or hand deliver it to Vince Marchese, [email protected], 620 G Street Davis, CA 95616, 530-758-2667 ext. 152. The form must be received by January 31, 2023 to be eligible for consideration. Details about the role of a Director and the Election are available on our Elections page.

I declare that I am interested in being a candidate for the Davis Food Co-op Inc. Board of Directors for a term beginning July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2026. I recognize that as a Director I will have a fiduciary responsibility to the membership to act in an informed and prudent manner and that I may be held personally liable if I do not. I recognize that as a Director I will have a duty to represent the membership at large and to act in their best interests (and not those of any faction thereof).

I am a shareholder, and I have paid the required membership fee and investment shares to be in good standing

I have been a member of the Davis Food Co-op for at least 90 day prior to the deadline for submitting this Declaration of Candidacy, January 31, 2023

I understand that serving as a director is a job that requires me: *

to prepare for and attend Board and membership meetings

to become familiar with co-op bylaws, policies and operational and financial information

I understand that I must submit a photo and candidate statement of 250 words or less and that both will be part of the election information available to all voting shareholders. These documents must be uploaded below or sent to [email protected] by January 31, 2023.

I understand I have an opportunity to speak with other DFC members about my candidacy at the May 6, 2023 Annual Meeting and in space provided in the Community Information Space Area outside the store during approved hours.

I understand that I will have an opportunity to record a video about my candidacy that will be posted on the DFC website and various social media sites. (The DFC Marketing Director, Vince Marchese, will be in touch with you to provide information about recording the video if you are interested in doing so.)
