SNAP Benefit Relief —Davis Food Co-op
As a food cooperative, it is part of Our Ends to ensure we make food access a priority. It is during these times of hardship that we pull together to ensure our neighbors and fellow owners/members have food on their tables. With the SNAP discount benefits at a stand, doing nothing is not an option.
While we are a small organization, we have the amazing ability to shift gears quickly and make an impact for those in our community who are in need. We may not have the latest updates since we choose to aid the community before ourselves, but what we do have is a store that prioritizes what matters.
For the month of November, starting November 3rd we are dedicating the following to help our fellow community members:
- Partnering with the Yolo County Food Bank for a Food Access Relief Fund donation initiative at our register with up to $5,000 donation matching! Our goal is to provide $10,000 in gift cards to those affected by increased food insecurity
- Ordering $10,000 worth of food for Yolo County Food Bank for their November Emergency Distributions in Davis
- Donating $2,000 to Yolo Meals on Wheels to help fund relief as they are also experiencing a large uptick in demand for their services
- Increasing our Community Needs-Based Discount to 15%
- Partnering with the Davis Night Market team to become a drop off location for food donations
While we recognize that this may not fill the needs of everyone, we are doing everything we can to help our fellow community members.

- Volunteer for the Yolo Food Bank for the Davis Emergency Distributions
- Volunteer for Yolo Meals on Wheels
- Check-in on your neighbors, especially your senior neighbors
More than a grocery store
As a cooperative, we’re owned by our community — not a corporation — and guided by values, not bottom lines. We exist in a deeply connected world, where the food on our table comes from a real place, hopefully one not too far away. If you would like to support more local growers, makers, and a business that exists for the community, continue to shop at your local Co-op. Thank you for supporting our community owned store.
